DRAGON FRUIT ~ One of my Favorite Fruits!!

Be careful not to pick it unripe otherwise you might end up like me spending your first years knowing what this is not liking it!

When properly ripe these are little delicious balls of watery, crunchy sweetness!!!

So how to pick a ripe one!?!?

Generally these are picked unripe and then transported to the country of sale unless growing locally.

Ripe ones will be more soft, color hasn’t seemed to matter, whether it is deeper pink or yellow or whichever color. Its more about the wear of the skin and how soft it is when you pick it up! If it’s like a hard ball, it will be edible but there is not a ton of sweetness so you may not find it too enjoyable!

These grow all over World and are originally native to Regions is South and Central America as well as Asia. Countries – India, Indonesia, Australia, South East Asia as well as Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and northern South America.

What surprises me the most is how it grows!! I had no idea this comes from a cactus plant!!!🏜🏜🏜
